Even though a pickup truck would have brought in more buyers, the prototypes that leaked to US media last year did more to confound than to clarify how the Stellantis and Mitsubishi L200 (also called Triton, Rodeo, Colt, Storm, Magnum, or Strakar) would combine for the next generation. Keep in mind that there was a time when Chrysler and Mitsubishi had an agreement for the sale of imported trucks such as the Plymouth Arrow, Dodge Ram 50, and Dodge D50.
The Fiat Fullback and the Ram 1200 are still names used for pickup trucks in certain regions. Now is the time for Mitsubishi to consider reviving their mid-size pickup truck lineup so they can take against the likes of the D41 Nissan Frontier, the newly-released Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger, and many more. Stellantis has to protect its Jeep Gladiators, therefore that might not happen in practice.
