Jatiluwih, Bali, Indonesia.
I'm in Bali for the second time and I wanted to get off the beaten path for a bit. So I decided to ride my rental scooter to Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in the middle of the island. Being the biggest expanse of paddies in Bali sitting at the foot of the mountains, it is quite a site to stare at. It is a 2 hour drive from Kuta or Denpasar to get there. It's hard to find without a map app or guide, so I suggest at least one of those.
When I went, the charge to enter was 40,000 Rupiah (3 USD). There are walking paths that go all around the paddies. Plenty of photo opportunities. There is also a hindu temple that sits among it all. It is a really great half day trip to do while in Bali.
