Jamaican Vegan Easter Spice Bun| Home Easter Bun| How to make Jamaican Easter Bun| No Egg No Dairy| Vegan Easter Bun|
Dry Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 Tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp mixed essence
- 1 vitamalt or dragon stout
- 1 tsp browning
- 2 tbsp ground flax seed mixed with 4 tbsp warm water
- 1 1/2 cup of mixeed peel, raisins and cranberries soaked in 1/4 cup red label wine and 1/2 of the vitamalt/ dragon stout
- 1 cup sugar
Toppings
- a handful of the cherry or raisins, mixed peel etc
- a tsp of jam mixed with a little juice
Instruction:
1) Preheat oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit or 140 degrees Celsius.
2) Sieve all the dry ingredient and mix with a whisk until combined.
3) In a separate bowl add the wet and combined all wet ingredients except browning.
4) Add half of the dry mixture to the wet and combined and fold. Add the other half and fold.
5) Add the browning and combined
6) Generously grease baking pan and add batter and baked for 40-45 mins. Always check on the bun during the baking process.
7) Coat the bun with the jam mixture and allow to kool for a couple of hours.
8) Slice and enjoy.
