Muhammad's group got a booty that, although not as big as Abu Sufyan's transport, was still big: 150 camels, 10 horses, a lot of weapons and armor, various things of the riders speed, and some goods taken by the Meccans. away from the hope of doing business along the way. The Muslims also got many captives. One of them was the uncle of Muhammad al-Abbas, who, according to some sources, had been Muhammad's secret agent in Mecca.
Umar wanted to kill all the captives, but Abu Bakr and others suggested that they be exchanged for ransom, because in addition to being their relatives, the ransom money would strengthen the Muslims.
