The KTM 250 Duke is a wonderful, well-balanced sporty-naked that is simultaneously the easiest to recommend and the least KTM-y of the Dukes. It was created more for South-East Asian taxation regimes than anything else... sort of the same reason why India has a category called sub-4m cars... but has evolved into a beautifully rounded machine. For 2024, there's an all-new engine featuring an apparent downgrade from the old DOHC-4v configuration to a new SOHC-4V configuration. But the new chassis is gold! The quickshifter manages up- and downshifts beautifully and the performance is robust but it feels sweet and fast rather than mad. Quality levels are up across the entire motorcycle and the only obvious bone to pick is finish levels in specific places and the LCD screen, which continues to mark the 250 as an lower rung product than the 390 Duke. Which is little annoying given how good the 2024 KTM 250 Duke really is. In this FAQ series, we're taking a up close, warts and all look at the new KTM.
