Nikon acquires RED!
Earlier this morning Nikon announced that it is going to acquire US Cinema Camera Manufacturer RED.com - better known as RED. This is huge news for both Nikon and RED.
Nikon and RED have had something of a rocky history, so what does this mean for the two companies? In this video we discuss how the acquisition might have come about following the lawsuit RED launched against Nikon in 2022, and also what this might mean for Nikon's future cinema camera lineup.
Equally Nikon N RAW hasn't seen widespread adoption, so could this be the time for Nikon to switch gears and make more use of RED's technologies to give it's existing Z cameras a boost?
