The Barbie movie is all dolled up with nothing to say.
There's been a lot of mixed reviews and debate on whether the Barbie movie (Greta Gerwig) was any good or promotes feminism too much.
I was pumped going to see Barbie on opening day dressed in blue and pink. I had a group of friends and we were ready to experience, what we assumed to be the better half of Barbenheimer. But while everyone liked it, I thought it was heavy handed and boring.
And while many, like Ben Shapiro, say the issue is the feminist and anti-patriarchy messaging, I disagree. As a staunch feminist myself, I had different issues with the film that stem back to my issues with lifestyle feminism. And there's nothing discontinued Barbies, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, as Ken or Michael Cera as Allan could do to make it better.
If you like or hate the Barbie movie, want an option on whether you should spend your money to see it in theatres, or are curious to hear another option for why Barbie movie wasn't as good as everyone says it is, this video is for you.
