The solid pole system for the Ramset Viper 4 is sectional. You can start with the 6' base pole that has the trigger sleeve and add 3' extensions to reach as high as needed. The Ramset Viper 4 pole system is totally different from older Viper models but the pins and loads are the same. This video gives you a good overview of shooting the tool. One thing we always tell new users to the Viper 4 is to actuate the tool with a deliberate motions. Compress the tool against the work surface and then actuate the trigger sleeve. You don't want to "harpoon" the ceiling, that isn't how the tool was designed. Again, compress the tool against the ceiling and slide up the trigger sleeve and you will find the tool functions best.

As a ceiling only tool, the Ramset Viper 4 tool is most commonly used by acoustical contractors but the tool is also used by man electrical and low voltage contractors to suspend cable runs.
