Edith Lemay and Sébastien Petellier are parents to four children, a daughter and three sons. the family of six resides in Canada creating happy memories as a family. but when their eldest child "mia" was three years old, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder "retinitis pigmentosa" which causes loss of vision or decline in vision with time.
The parents were still trying to process the sad and unexpected news, when two of their son's also had similar symptoms.
the two sons were also diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa. retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment and often blindness in midlife. some people with retinitis pigmentosa gets affected with severe vision impairment, but doesn't go completely blind.
but for these children, they have high probability of going blind because, both of their parents have the same genetic disorder. so their three children inherited degenerative gene from both of their parents.
