I put a stick where the coax joins with the antenna to make it more level. Although you don't need a balun, you can get/make one if you want. You can also make an "ugly balun" or use clip-on ferrites. It is important to note that an "ugly balun" is actually just a common mode RF choke, it doesn't affect impedence or match different systems together. However it will keep RF where its supposed to be (in the antenna). See: [ Ссылка ] . Just coil some coax around a cylinder 5-6 times, basically.
In the future I will try to put up a new video with a Nano VNA (to measure SWR).
In this video we are making a quick improvised dipole antenna for citizens band radio. It really should have a center support where the coaxial meets the actual dipoles - this will also help prevent water from going into the coaxial cable if and when it rains. This does NOT have (or need) a balun, although you can make a balun yourself.
In the future I will be making more videos on my radio exploits using limited resources, improvisation, and the good old ionosphere.
