A tornado tore through New Orleans and nearby suburbs late Tuesday night, ripping roofs off homes, overturning vehicles and throwing one house into the middle of a street. The twister was part of a storm front that left damage from Texas to South Carolina. At least one person was killed in the New Orleans area, and Louisiana activated 300 National Guard members to be dispatched to St. Bernard Parish to assist with clean up and security.
