This is a guide to help you understand HOW to figure out what you need to do within the Encrypted Cipher Quests. You will need to decode the encrypted message in order to do this, using the instructions in the video and outlined below:

To solve the encrypted quest name, follow instructions below:

1) Write out the numbers one by one, downwards, on a piece of paper.
For example, for stage 1 of 3:

17
23
9
14

2) Use the following number sequence and subtract a number from the numbers you just wrote down. (0, 3, 1, 0, 2, 0, 2, 3)

1 - 0 = 1
17 - 3 = 14
23 - 1 = 22
9 - 0 = 9
14 - 2 = 12

3) Use this next piece to solve the puzzle. A = 1, B = 2, C=3 and so on.

1 - 0 = 1, which would be: A
17 - 3 = 14, which would be N
23 - 1 = 22, which would be V
9 - 0 = 9, which would be I
14 - 2 = 12, which would be L

That spells ANVIL. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each set of words in the puzzle.
This leads you to get the answer, ANVIL SQUARE, for Stage 1 of 3

4) Once you do this you will have the missing piece of the puzzle and know what to do to complete the quest. You read the description of the quest and fill in the hole with the piece you just solved.
