A spokesman for the 79-year-old musician revealed today that he is undergoing treatment for the condition and is hopeful of making a full recovery. He was last seen in public on the weekend at Rupert Murdoch's wedding to former supermodel Jerry Hall in London (where he is pictured left with wife Suzanne). After the news was announced, fans responded by tweeting their best wishes for the musician, as well as hopes for a speedy recovery (insets). One wrote: 'We hope you make a 100% recovery and beat that wretched disease.' Born as William Perks in Lewisham, south east London, in October 1936, Wyman joined the Rolling Stones (right) as the band's bass player in 1962, replacing Dick Taylor, who went on to play with Pretty Things. He left 31 years later to pursue other projects, including forming his own band Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings in 1996.
