In 2009, the Government of India launched Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) a national campaign to expand and improve the quality of secondary education for all social groups. RMSA is India’s first significant public investment in secondary schooling since Independence in 1947 and aims to put 10 million into school by 2017.
Cambridge Education led the UK aid-funded RMSA Technical Cooperation Agency – a team of national and international technical specialists which supported RMSA partners such as the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the National Council of Educational Research and Training to strengthen and accelerate the delivery of the programme.
This short film summarises the work that has taken place to promote access, equity and quality at all levels of Indian secondary education.
