Critical Zone scientists are on the forefront of redefining how we think about complex processes that support life on Earth. One of those processes is the water cycle. For generations the water cycle has been taught to be precipitation - surface water - evaporation - clouds - precipitation. That's changing. In this recent presentation to members of the Critical Zone Collaborative Network's Big Data Cluster, water cycle educator Sophie Hill, based at Brigham Young University, describes how that's changing to include how humans are involved in the cycle.
