In February 2018 on a trip to Kenya we stayed for two nights at Giraffe Manor, a special hotel in Nairobi. It is very unique. It sits on 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of forest. The property itself is lovely and peaceful, but the real excitement of Giraffe Manor is its resident endangered Rothschild’s giraffe population. Some of them visit the manor house each morning and poke their long necks into the windows of the breakfast room for special pellets. They return at tea time in the afternoon for more treats in the courtyard in front of the building. The manor sits next to The Giraffe Center which operates conservation/education program and is well worth a visit as well.
