(7 Dec 2016) GOSLING, STONE CEMENT PARTNERSHIP WITH 'LA LA LAND'
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone cemented their on-screen partnership at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday (7 December 2016) -- getting hand- and footprints to commemorate their third pairing together in the new musical "La La Land."
The pair starred together in "Crazy, Stupid Love" and "Gangster Squad" and play up-and-coming artists falling in love in Los Angeles in "La La Land."
"I'm still I guess not completely convinced that we're not going to be arrested for vandalism. I'm going to take your word for it that we're allowed to do this," Gosling said. "We had an opportunity to shoot in most of Los Angeles' most iconic locations but -- except for this. So this is I guess the final piece to the puzzle. It's a beautiful way to end this experience."
Stone said she didn't realize the lasting mark she was making at Wednesday's ceremony.
"I wasn't aware until a moment ago -- this is embarrassing -- I thought that maybe this was kind of a thing where you come and you put your handprints in the cement and then they take them away and they put them up somewhere. And I was just told that they're going to stay here," she said. "And so I cried a little bit inside. I mean, I cried outside but it was inside there. I'm just -- it's very, very exciting. I came here. I moved to LA when I was 15. Came here -- and my hands are an exact match for Jane Russell. So if, you know, you're looking for a Jane Russell hand double, I'm your girl. This is an incredible experience."
The critically acclaimed "La La Land" -- directed by Damien Chazelle -- opens on Friday in limited release in the U.S.
