I'm glad to finally be done with the biggest layout-formed project of mine! I present to you a complete 2-minute layout with various gameplay styles and a special dual near the end with the new swing, accompanied by every other game mode!
This has been a long journey for me which dragged on for 2 whole weeks (7-21th February) and it has now come to an end. I really wanted to push myself as far as I could by using my knowledge of the game and the game design I've been taught over the years to combine them into what I would call my best layout. I put a lot of emphasis on letting the player get used to the main 2 gimmicks, trigger orbs with claim touch (which skips the jump), and the new teleport orbs before mixing them up.
When it came to the gameplay itself I already had a plan on how it would be laid out. The calmer and more melodic parts would focus on the flowy-ness, matching the energy and speed of the song, while the faster and more technical parts got a more intense and click-sync-based approach to it. Working on the dual drained my energy, a lot... Normally I would be able to work upwards of 2 hours without any struggle but every time I worked on the dual my brain felt sloppy after just 30 minutes xD I guess it's because I never really make duals, let alone asymmetrical ones...
There is just one thing that I really wish I had known sooner. During the whole period, I didn't know that you had to click the "save offset" button on teleport orbs which led to me stop using them in the later parts as they ruined the sync the more you used them. I wonder how I would've used them if I knew this, now I can only imagine the possibilities you have with them with the dual.. oh well, time to move on to the next thing!
Since I'd already put a lot of time into this I decided to add some aesthetic touch to the level and also go with a custom thumbnail which I've never done before.
