That is when he came to know about the US CMA course (Certified management accountant course). The advantage of the CMA course, Nitish feels is students get US qualification and a dual certification from ICWA (CMA India). That's when he got details of the CMA course and saw a really good opportunity for him. He came to know about the course content and realised it is more to do with logic, concepts, aptitute and practical stuff. He did his evaluation and realised that CMA is the right course to go ahead because a lot of industries especially industries in core finance team in financial planning and analysis role, there was a course to do and in demand. Financial planning and analysis always interested Nitish. That is when he thought he should go ahead and do the course.
He googled online and justdial and heard about Miles Education CMA course. He contacted Miles and walked into their MG road office 2-3 times and got induciton and orientation many times with 2-3 hr sessions on CMA course and CPA course with Vasudha, Saakshi, Akshata. Nitish feels they helped him a lot with CMA course details, orientation and induction and he got a lot of valuable insights. He also did a lot of industry research post acquiring his CMA qualification. He enrolled for the course in October and was really amazed by the way the whole course was modelled. He feels Miles has a unique approach where most of practical stuff is through video tutorials. And after video tutorials if one had any questions students could go to the faculty in the class and they were always helpful. Apart from that students have lot of support material like Wiley CMA books and Miles CMA notes.
Nitish feels the study material and support given to him by Miles was stupendous during the study time. November to December, he studied during weekends apart from the classes and also made time to study an hour per day. Later in January, he went on to give his exam in the Jan-Feb exam window and cleared in the first attempt cleared his first and second parts.
He got his results in April and post clearing he targeted jobs in financial planning and analysis as he was interested in those areas of work. He finally landed a job at Dell EMC and right now working as finance analyst at Dell EMC at India COE. Nitish strongly feels that with respect to pay package (US CMA salary), designation and industry (CMA job opportunities) recognition being a CMA is definately better than being a semi qualified CA. He is thankful to the Miles team, Varun sir, facilitators who helped with induction and orientation and thanks them for doing a wonderful job in shaping his career. He thanks them from the bottom of his heart.
Having a CMA qualification is better than having nothing as a semi qualified CA, feels Nitish. He advises all his friends who are semi qualified CA stuck in CA and some who have been in direct entry at CA inter to consider US CMA course. Even though they would get work experience, they would still lack the qualification and recommends the CMA course for all of them especially if they are interested in financial planning and mangament roles.
