PGA Professional Todd Kolb shows us how to properly execute consistent bunker shots. Proper club selection, an open club face, and weight distribution on the feet are all essential keys to getting yourself out of the sand.
First, start by choosing your most lofted club (58 degree in the example). Next, rotate the club face so that it is open; this will help allow the club to go through the sand instead of digging into it. Then you want to feel your pressure/weight forward in your stance, favoring the lead foot more than your trail foot. Finally, position the ball slightly forward in your stance at address. By following these simple steps, you will gain confidence, save strokes and enjoy the game even more!
