Shop the new Ford EcoSport: [ Ссылка ]
With the new 2018 Ford EcoSport, Ford now has a subcompact crossover available for those Blue Oval shoppers looking for a high-riding vehicle smaller than the compact Ford Escape. Drivers will find either a 1.0-liter inline 3-cylinder engine in front-wheel-drive trims or a more powerful (if only just) 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder in all-wheel-drive versions. Ford pairs both with a 6-speed automatic transmission in the EcoSport to deliver up to 28 miles per gallon in combined driving. Over the course of a week with the 2.0-liter-equipped SES AWD trim, Christian Wardlaw discovered the car’s fuel efficiency comes at the cost of performance.
The EcoSport certainly isn’t quick, but it’s fairly practical. Despite standing over 6 feet tall, Chris found the rear seat comfortable and appreciated Ford’s decision to cover the backs of the front seats with soft materials. Up front, the EcoSport is available with an 8-inch touchscreen running a wonderful SYNC3 infotainment system. And although this test car came equipped with a nice 7-speaker stereo, there’s a premium 9-speaker system from B&O Play available.
