The 7.7 magnitude quake has killed at least 30 people, according to the country's disaster agency.
It hit just before 4.30pm local time, and was centred about 100km from Khuzdar, but could be felt 400km away in Karachi.
Mohammad Taimur, who was working in the city at the time of the quake, said: "I was working on my computer in the office. Suddenly I felt tremors, my table and computer started shaking. I thought I am feeling dizzy but soon found out they were tremors. I immediately left and came down to safety."
Though those in Karachi appear to have escaped unscathed, an official in Baluchistan claims at least 30 percent of houses in the Awaran district have been reduced to dust.
A state of emergency has been declared in the sparsely populated area. As rescue services work against the clock, officials fear the death toll may climb.
