On Saturday, February 25, a prototype hybrid kayak "NERIS Smart" air drone accompaniment (quadrocopters) came out in the open (Kiev) sea for sea trials in the conditions, "approximate to the fighting."
In difficult ice conditions, with the wind 4 m / s with gusts of up to 5-6 m / s and a small but sharp waves, "Smart" errands here and there with the "shoulder" of 1.5 km.
Then we do not care - operator of the drone, from which the shooting, was afraid of losing control over it. But it was enough, this is not a swimming pool.
In the boat were made the next design refinement. At the request of the crew of athletes who will be performing at the upcoming boat kayak competitions in the cylinders were mounted adjustable thigh straps and inflatable backrests sidushek replaced stitched better fixing the waist and back rower.
Sea trials have shown a high speed boat, good injectivity and directional stability.
At the same time, maneuverability does not hurt. The stability of the kayaks - significantly higher than the number of frame kayaks and inflatable deadrise.
To see the behavior of the boat when approaching an obstacle and dropping to the shore, the crew tried several times to exit kayak floe: dispersed and flew out on the ice. Sometimes a piece of ice broke under the weight of a boat with rowers, and if not, the boat went out on the ice in full, up to the stern.
The frame of the boat rejoice in their stiffness and kilson - strength.
Conclusions. A very successful design. Some attachment points have to move a little, add a couple of slings and a little play with colors ...
So, the new model is closer to series production!
