Hello jazz piano lovers! We are back in action with a brand new video geared towards intermediate/advanced students. This video shows a simple little pattern that you can use to remember the places within a dominant chord that you can build major triad upper structures. This is a great way to think about playing a two handed dominant chord because of all the options it grants us. Proceed with caution though, you must really use your ears when comping with these voicings randomly - if your extensions do not match what the soloist is playing you may cause an unintentional dissonance. We love our dissonance, we just want it to be controlled!
Happy practicing!
