(13 Feb 2015) NASA celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Solar Dynamic Observatory by releasing a timelapse video showing the sun over a nearly five-year period.
The SDO was lunched February 11, 2010.
According to space agency, the time-lapse begins in June 2010, when data became available, and lasts until February 5th of this year.
The video captures one frame every eight hours.
The different colors seen represen the various wavelengths in which SDO observes the sun.
