IPv6 is the latest version of Internet Protocol (IP). Some of the differences between IPv4 and IPv6 are as follows:
IPv4 uses a 32-Bit IP address. IPv6 uses a 128-Bit IP address.
In IPv4 there are binary bits separated by a dot (.). In IPv6 binary bits are separated by a colon (:).
IPv4 provides 12 fields in the header. IPv6 supports 8 fields in the header.
