Characteristics of Flake Graphite
Flake graphite is thin and flexible with excellent physical and chemical properties, such as:

Applications of Flake Graphite
Refractory Materials:
Metallurgical Industry: Used extensively in structural refractory materials and coatings, such as magnesia-carbon bricks and crucibles.
Other Industries: Desulfurization promoters in the smelting industry, pencil leads in the light industry, carbon brushes in the electrical industry, electrodes in the battery industry, and catalysts in the fertilizer industry.
Advanced Products: Through deep processing, flake graphite can produce graphite emulsion for lubricants, release agents, drawing agents, and conductive coatings. It can also produce expanded graphite for flexible graphite products like seals and composite materials.
Coatings:
Functional Fillers: Used in anti-corrosion coatings, fire-resistant coatings, and conductive coatings.
Anti-Rust Primer: Made from carbon black, talc, and oil, this material has excellent chemical and solvent resistance. Adding zinc and other chemical pigments enhances the anti-rust effect.
Expanded Graphite: This is made by chemically or electrochemically treating natural graphite flakes to form graphite intercalation compounds, which act as fireproof fillers. When heated, expandable graphite significantly expands, choking the flame and forming a char layer that isolates the flame, delaying or stopping its spread. It is non-combustible, flexible, and has high surface energy and strong char layer strength. The volume and amount of the expandable graphite must be chosen appropriately; tests show that 150um particles with a 30-fold expansion and a 5% usage rate are optimal.
