Many people get into calisthenics buy purchasing a doorway pull up bar. Because of the height of the average doorway, many people question what they should do with their lower bodies to allow for adequate ROM. While L-sit pull ups are certainly an option, and applicable for advanced practitioners seeking to develop skills, arched back pull ups are the perfect option for those looking to use the doorway pull up bar to build a stronger and more aesthetic back. The arched position is applicable even if you have access to a full height bar. It is, in my opinion, the best overall back exercise, and the inability to fully hang from a pull up bar is not a limitation at all.
