This tutorial demonstrates how to cast on stitches using the alternate cable cast on method. This technique is ideal for edging ribbing - such as on cuffs and waistbands - because it blends in with the rib pattern and provides a stable and quite stretchy edge.
I will show you the normal method first, and then I will show you an improved method. This improved version eliminates the slip knot in the edge, uses a decrease to sharpen up one of the corners so it matches the other, and it allows the finished edge to ONLY consist of cable cast-on stitches (rather than stitches made with the knitted cast on for example).
I hope you find this video helpful!
