The Minnesota Orchestra’s 2022-23 season bursts onto the Orchestra Hall stage with Wynton Marsalis’ Swing Symphony and culminates in the sunshine of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Between these musical bookends, our musicians share with audiences music of vivid contrasts and colors—from the eternal beauty of Joseph Haydn’s The Creation to brea(d)th, an urgent 21st-century creation by composer Carlos Simon and librettist Marc Bamuthi Joseph. It’s a season in which we are focusing on great pianists and piano works, interesting pairings of historic and contemporary works, and the virtuosity of the Minnesota Orchestra itself.
