100 Magnificent Indian Elephants Migrate to New York City’s Meatpacking District 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘

The @greatelephantmigration is a traveling herd of 100 handcrafted life-sized Indian elephant sculptures that are spread across the Meatpacking District in Manhattan, New York City. It is a global fundraising adventure to amplify indigenous knowledge and inspire the human race. One of the largest public art installations in New York City since Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s The Gates in 2005, the herd will captivate people of all ages while amplifying indigenous knowledge and sharing a message about human-wildlife coexistence and conservation worldwide. Created by the Coexistence Collective, part of the @therealeleco. The materials used included the invasive weed, Lantana camara. The sculptures were constructed by a community of 200 indigenous artisans in India for whom sharing space with animals is second nature.
