In the video I forgot to mention that I modified the audio chain to have a wider audio response also.
Just a video mentioning some of the mods I did to this radio years ago:
DigiMax channel mod board and display that gives this radio over 120 channels, and a 3 digit display, and it even has the "in between" channels.

It has an echo board (internal and only adjustable internally)
the squelch knob is a variable dead key from 1 to 4 watts, most people just throw a variable resistor at the deadkey and end up with 0 ~ 8 watts and not smooth at all, but I wanted one that made sense, so I came up with the proper resistances to make it 1 watt on the low end and 4 on the high end and smooth throughout the range .
the audio chain is modded for wider more hifi sound, a little more highs and a little more lows
it also has the NPC mod (negative peak compression)
I separated the NB/ANL, ANL is now on CH9 Switch
The clarifier tracks on transmit and receive and is NOT overly sensitive, in fact I made it less sensitive so it is easy to tune people in, definitely NOT a slider.
and a few other tricks i forgot to mention.
