I have a yoga student who pushed herself with such relentless perfectionism.
Her inner pusher required everything to be done to an exceedingly high bar.
And the bar was always getting higher.
At work, her performance was above and beyond.
Her yoga practice was always an hour, followed by intense self-examination.
I’m sure her food was prepared to exact specifications.
The thing was, all this trying to do things “right,” there was a disconnect.
I wish she could have glimpsed the part of herself that was
unconditionally loving and accepting for longer periods of time.
In yoga we call this the True Self.
I know that is why I practice.
To clear away all the parts of myself that prevent me from being continually
in alignment with unconditional love.
My True Self.
That is what this yin yoga and yoga nidra is about and I think it is amazing.
