American author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates has been described as one of the most prominent intellectuals of his generation. Writing about serious issues like race, society and politics, he is also known for his work on the Marvel comic books “Black Panther” and “Captain America”. In 2015, he won the National Book Award for "Between the World and Me", a letter to his teenage son about what it is like to be a black man in America.
Coates sat down with FRANCE 24's Fatimata Wayne to talk about his latest book "We Were Eight Years in Power", a reflection on race under Barack Obama's two-term presidency.
