Calderas are truly impressive features which often form in some of the planet's largest explosive volcanic eruptions. Thus, while volcanic calderas in the state of Oregon, Wyoming, or Alaska are fairly well known, it might come as a surprise that another state contains numerous calderas; California. This video discusses some of the better known calderas in the state such as the Medicine Lake caldera while also lesser known examples such as the Cup & Saucer volcanic field calderas.
