Tue Kjølhede & Lasse Kaalby on "Diagnostic accuracy of capsule endoscopy compared with colonoscopy for polyp detection: systematic review and meta-analyses"
Authors: Tue Kjølhede, Anne Mette Ølholm, Lasse Kaalby et al.
Summary:
This meta-analysis of 12 studies and 1898 individuals showed that second-generation colon capsule endoscopy (CCE) has more than 85% sensitivity and specificity for colorectal polyp detection compared with standard colonoscopy. Important limitations of CCE include inadequate bowel preparation and incomplete examination due to battery exhaustion.
