Malwarebytes & Norton - often seen on best antivirus lists, so - let’s end the debate once and for all and discover which one truly reigns supreme?!
In this video, I’m going to be doing a Malwarebytes vs Norton head-to-head, covering all important discoveries I’ve found through testing.
1️⃣ Norton
Norton bites back in this regard, with their two-way firewall. This is pretty excellent and observes the sent and received network traffic on your device whilst you browse. With additions like Parental Control, allowing parents to restrict their kids’ access to websites. There’s a SafeCam feature for PC, which notifies you if any third-party apps are spying; a free password manager, albeit a little basic, it’s good for new users. And, there’s even a VPN, though Norton’s version doesn’t have a kill switch, to avoid IP leaks.
As you can see, if advanced capabilities are your thing, Norton 360 definitely offers more as a premium antivirus option. Especially being one of the best antivirus for PC options.

2️⃣ Malwarebytes
Well, Malwarebytes premium gives you access to features like real-time protection, where the anti-virus is constantly getting rid of any ransomware or malware that might come your way. It also blocks any domains and IP addresses that just don’t seem right, so you never make it on those pages anyway! Which is really important.
Though, where Malwarebytes may truly excel is with their Exploit Protection. This is pretty advanced and deals with vulnerabilities in applications and security flaws.
One caveat in terms of security - they don’t offer an integrated firewall, which I deem to be pretty invaluable in terms of securing your device.

🔒 Malware tests:
Okay, I ran exactly the same tests, planting 10 malicious files onto my computer and running a full scan with each provider independently. This test will determine their capability at catching malware. First up - Malwarebytes. I’ll just run a scan, as you can see my 10 files are on the screen, and after a very short scan time, Malwarebytes detected just 5/10 of my malicious files. Hmm.
Now, if I was to compare this to Norton; after clicking that scan button, it arguably took way longer than Malwarebytes, around 50 minutes. Though, the capture rate was a lot more efficient, with 9/10 files detected

➡️ Final thoughts:
While both of these antiviruses are great, I just can’t ignore the fact that Norton antivirus gives you a lot more features at a steal when you’re comparing it to Malwarebytes. It also has slightly better malware test scores. Though, it can take a small learning curve to get used to.
However, if you want the antivirus to just clean up your already infected computer and want it to be free, Malwarebytes would be the obvious choice as it offers one of the best free antivirus for Windows 10 experiences!
