Tropical Storm Francine is expected to become a hurricane as it approaches Texas and Louisiana by the middle of the week. Dangerous storm surge, hurricane force winds and tornadoes will be possible as Hurricane Francine makes landfall along the north Gulf Coast. Francine is getting stronger in the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Francine is the sixth named storm of the 2024 hurricane season. In this tropics update we break down the active tropics during the peak of the 2024 hurricane season. This could bring heavy rain and severe weather to Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.

The peak of the 2024 hurricane season is September 10th. Hurricane season goes through November.
