In this sixth video of the series on King and Pawn Endgames, IM Andrey Ostrovskiy is discussing with you key ideas of pawn breakthroughs and covers two important scenarios. The first one is the 3 vs 3 pawns scenario, where one side sacrifices two pawns in order to get one pawn promoted by breaking through the opponent’s pawn chain. The second one is the 4 vs 4 pawns scenario, where you learn different methods on how to sacrifice pawns in order to promote one of your pawns.
