I can see the gate and the tree's in the road ahead
And the cabin I remember so well
Here we would go every summer, for school break
Just when the flowers had begun blooming

I can still hear our joyous laughter
As we had our first summer bath
We would go swimming, how well tanned we were
Such lovely summer days!

Whatever may happen in life
I will never forget my summerland

Here was the dream of freedom,
A cruel illusion, of a happiness i never found
