We jump ahead briefly to share with you the recently ended fifth freedom flight from NYC to Vancouver with Cathay Pacific in their long haul equipped 777 300ER. This flight continues on to Hong Kong but the shorter transcontinental segment was bookable on its own with points or dollars. I had wanted to take this flight since I first heard about it, when I found out it was going to be discontinued I made sure to secure an award booking on it right away in the top cabin available, First Class. The soft product had been recently improved in late 2019 as well which I enjoyed on this flight. Since Cathay Pacific is a One World partner flying from American Airlines’ Terminal 8 this ticket also entitled me to the Flagship Lounge and even more exclusive table service Flagship Dining. So come along and see what this unique experience was like and what you can expect with Cathay Pacific in their top level of service.
