Tourists stop to watch the flash floods in Arizona that swept away swimmers at a popular swimming hole on Saturday, leaving nine dead and a 13-year-old boy still missing. The swimming hole, pictured, is part of the east Verde river and becomes popular in the summer. It flooded as the result of a sudden thunderstorm eight miles upstream from the swimming hole. The swimming hole is near Water Wheel Camping Ground, a remote site approximately 10 miles north east of Payson. It is around 100 miles from Phoenix.
