Not to be confused with the similarly named "Barn Owl," the Barred Owl is one of the most common and widespread species of owl in the United States. Like all owls, these are nocturnal raptors (aka "birds of prey") and are instrumental as a check on various prey items, especially rodents. But their owl-standing adaptations don't stop there, from their dish-shaped faces to their super-rotatable necks!
