The Gorosei have been mysterious characters since the beginning of One Piece. The Gorosei and Luffy and the admirals were never before seen to be close in strength until One Piece Chapter 1086. One Piece Chapter 1086 makes the Gorosei admirals and Luffy all seem to be a similar level of strength. Shanks is also mentioned somewhat as well as Vegapunk in one piece chapter 1086.
