A tasty and easy to make shorba is so comforting on a cold night, isnt it? Learn how to make Tomato Dhaniya Shorba at home.
TOMATO DHANIYA SHORBA
Ingredients
6-7 medium tomatoes, roughly chopped
¼ medium bunch fresh coriander stems (dhania)
Salt to taste
2 tbsps oil
3-4 garlic cloves
8-10 black peppercorns
1-2 tbsps gram flour
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
A fresh coriander sprig for garnishing
Method
1. Take tomatoes in a bowl. Add salt and mix.
2. Roughly chop coriander stems.
3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker.
4. Thinly slice garlic cloves.
5. Add peppercorns, sliced garlic and chopped coriander stems to hot oil and sauté for 30 seconds.
6. Add gram flour and mix. Add remaining oil and sauté till it turns golden.
7. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder and sauté for 30 seconds.
8. Add tomatoes and mix. Add 2 cups water, cover and cook till 2 whistles.
9. Blend the pressure cooked mixture using a hand blender to make a smooth mixture.
10. Strain and serve hot garnished with fresh coriander sprig.
