This June the European Rewilding Network (ERN) hosted its fifth ‘Rewilding Intro’ event! The goal of these mini-webinars, is to give each ERN member the opportunity to share their story, achievements and expertise, and to further develop beneficial exchange across the network.
This time Wild Ennerdale takes us on a 30-minute long journey to the northwestern edge of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, where the Ennerdale Valley boasts some of England’s most vibrant natural environments.
Gareth Browning, one of the founding members and the Area Forester for Forestry England and Rachel Oakley, the Partnership Officer will share the story of the Wild Ennerdale.
You will get a unique opportunity to learn about one of the UK’s largest wild land partnerships ongoing for 20 years. This is a one of a kind collaboration between people and organisations led by The National Trust, The Forestry Commission and United Utilities (as the primary land owners in the valley), and Natural England, the British government’s advisor on the environment.
