Andrew was a painfully shy teenager when our cameras followed him during his time in juvenile prison. He was serving time for arson and threatening three girls who were ex-girlfriends of his and his cousin. In this video, Andrew's nerves were on full display as he went before the juvenile parole board members to discuss his past offenses, the programs he'd completed while locked up, and why he thought he was now in a better mindset to be returned to his family and community. As he sat in front of the parole board members to plead his case, he knew his answers to the tough questions posed would ultimately determine if he was released or would be required to serve more time behind bars. Like almost all the juveniles inside this maximum-security juvenile prison, teens must complete a 5-level program before being released ... but even then, it's never a given that they'll go home anytime soon.
