Over the years I could collect various drumsets. Meanwhile there are some quite different drums in my collection: from vintage to modern, various woods and sizes and for sure differing sounds. Thus I was really into making this comparison. I used almost the same drumheads (Remo Powerstroke III), similar tuning and the same mics for every drum. The microphones are a beyerdynamic TG D71, a Sennheiser MK4, a Shure Beta 52a (which in the end I didn't chose for the mix), a Shure SM57 for the snare and a Sennheiser e914 as an overhead microphone.
