Written and Choreographed by 5th Grade students :)
Have you ever been bullied? Have you even been cast out of a group of friends? What did you do? How did you feel? Take a walk in the shoes of both a bully and a victim. We hope you will learn that our stories are the same.
My students have created a dramatic interpretation of how bullying affects them emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We spent time thinking about both perspectives and developing compassion for both sides bullying; a topic that is often "swept under the rug" in schools.
As the video shows, the students "stories are the same". Bullys and victims alike can feel isolated, inferior, and frightened by their situations. Is is possible for this to be different sides to the same coin?
My 5th graders took a leap of faith to share with the community what it feels like to be both a bully and a victim. This is a non-fiction piece of media. My students wrote the entire script and choreographed the presentation in a way other speaking their feelings.
Please WATCH. LIKE. SHARE! We have already been interviewed by ABC15 and are looking forward to spreading this powerful message of empathy and acceptance with the world.
