This is one of the hymns that we chant in the liturgy during Easter and more specifically during the procession (right before the gospel). It has deep theological meaning and describes the story of our salvation in a focused text.
The hymn starts by talking about the Logos (i.e. the Word) and links this with the Trinity by saying that the Word is equal in eternity with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The hymn continues to talk about the Logos who was born of the virgin Mary to save us through his death on the cross and his glorious resurrection.
